Making Sky Workshop

It had long been a dream of mine to fill a space with a sky of my own making. In the months leading up to my exhibition Na-bi tale, I created hundreds of hand-painted sky pieces that gradually came to cover part of the exhibition space. I enjoyed the process of painting, crumpling, and attaching each piece to the walls, and wanted to share that experience with others. The workshop took place an hour before the exhibition opened. After making and installing our sky pieces together, we lay on the floor and spent some time quietly gazing at the sky we had created.
<하늘 만들기> 워크숍

언젠가 직접 만든 파란 하늘로 공간을 가득 채워보고 싶다는 생각을 했습니다. 전시 《나비전 𝘕𝘢-𝘣𝘪 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘦》을 준비하는 몇 달 동안 수백 장의 하늘 조각을 만들고 차곡차곡 모아 전시장 한켠을 뒤덮었습니다. 조각마다 조금씩 다른 모양의 하늘을 그리고, 구기고, 벽에 붙이는 과정이 즐거워서 다 함께 해보고 싶어 이번 워크숍을 준비하게 되었습니다. 워크숍은 전시 오픈 한 시간 전에 진행되었습니다. 함께 하늘을 만들고 벽에 붙인 뒤에는 참여자들과 바닥에 누워, 우리가 함께 만든 하늘을 멍하니 바라보는 시간을 가졌습니다.
