Myself and my Cursed/Proud/Tedious/Limitless Female Body, 2023
Myself and my Cursed/Proud/Tedious/Limitless Female Body is an installation featuring drawings from a nude self portrait series of the same title and a life-size mixed media sculpture, Female-bodied artist(2023). This work is an exploration into the femininity and the queerness of the body I was born with. It speaks of the multitude of emotions that rise from the love-hate relationship I have developed with my body as I learned to come to terms with its limitations and societal expectations. Stripping naked in front of a full-length mirror and drawing the body over and over, I observe the ever-changing, loathsome yet beautiful dynamism and potential of my body.
